Ken Steiger
Work Experience: Ken Steiger, President of Steiger Training & Development, has been in the training and consulting field since 1989 and has worked with many Fortune 500 clients as a senior-level trainer and consultant. Mr. Steiger also has served in senior management positions as the Vice President of Training, VP of Training and Customization, and VP of Support Services for Ridge Associates, Inc., a mid-sized training firm based in upstate New York.

Ken’s management experience is diverse and spans nearly thirty years. He has held executive and line management positions in various industries besides training, including symphony orchestra management and food service management.

Business Focus: In 1999, Ken launched Steiger Training & Development. He specializes in executive coaching and leadership development, and also has expertise in change management, strategic planning, training trainers, selling skills, customer service and customer relationship skills, and team development.

Transfer of Learning Participants say his interactive style and ability to help them make connections between the skills being taught in the workshop and their work-world are two keys in helping them make the transition from the training event back to their workplace successfully.

Education: Ken earned his MBA from Binghamton University, where he also was awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. He currently is working towards his Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) designation.

Professional Activities: A member of the American Society for Training and Development, Ken is a past president of the board of the Central New York chapter and currently is a member of ASTD's National Advisors for Chapters (NAC) team, serving chapters in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio. He has been a featured presenter at numerous conferences and workshops for organizations such as the New York State Society for Human Resource Management, the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce, the CNY chapter of the Institute for Internal Auditors, the CNY Sales and Marketing Executives Association, the NYS Nurse Practioner’s Association, and ASTD’s annual Leadership Conference.

Community: In September 2008, Ken was elected to his second term as president of the Onondaga-Madison School Boards Association, and is on the Board of Education of the Tully Central School District. He passionately advocates for modifications to the school aid formula so that it is fair, simple, and equitable for children throughout New York State.
